
If you develop lymphedema, make sure you see a lymphedema specialist. He or she will review your medical history and identify a cause for your lymphedema. They will then make recommendations to help reduce your lymphedema.
- Compression garments. Compression garments are use prophylactically with lymphedema that has recently started to develop. They require a lymphedema specialist to fit them on the patient. If they are worn at a later date when the body has changed, then new compression garments must be chosen.
